Kabaret Caligula -- is a Prague amateur theatre group active since 1996. The name of the famous Roman weirdo in the title refers to the group’s penchant for the absurd: Kabaret Caligula stages solely its own authorial comedies, which are grotesquely violent, obscenely libidinous, highly provocative, cruel, and bloody witty. In our 15 original pieces of different duration, as much as 89 people were gutted, cut to pieces, tortured to death, clubbed, stabbed, bashed, shot, blasted or set on fire, all of it to please the crowd and to demonstrate the abuse of power in various settings, which is the major theme of the groups´ production.
